Philip Mock, CFA®, CFP®

Managing Partner & Investment Adviser Representative

There are few things I’ve always loved in one form or another. When I was in fourth grade, I was featured in the local newspaper for writing a computer program and was sure this was what I wanted to do – to build and create. Later, and for a long time, I thought I wanted to be a law enforcement officer because I knew I really liked helping and protecting people. And then there’s my lifelong passion for music – I’ve been playing guitar and performing for over 25 years. While I’m not exactly Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton, I love the collaboration that comes with music, getting to know people and sharing that part of myself. Lastly, I’ve always been good with numbers. From my engineering courses to finance and accounting, numbers have always resonated with me.

All of these experiences have helped me realize what I really loved most about financial planning. My greatest passion is taking the time to help clients work through all the emotions attached to money – feeling overwhelmed, feeling like they’ll never have enough to retire, feeling like there isn’t enough time to spend making memories with the people that matter the most to them. All the while, protecting them from what I believe to be unsavory financial advisory practices like commissions and lack of transparency. When it comes down to it, being an advisor is about putting a plan in place to take those feelings away. There’s no better feeling than helping someone progress through the phases of relief, peace, and then joy at what’s now possible. I want my clients to grow and maximize their finances, but I really want them to experience revamping their whole well-being.

I have a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, and a Bachelor’s degree in sociology, all from Oklahoma State University. In addition, I hold three financial designations that involved studying for many years during my evenings and weekends after college. I believe strongly in education, in always growing, and never being satisfied that I know it all.

I have spoken at industry conferences all over the U.S. to other advisors, accountants, and professionals – ranging from smaller content sessions of 20-30 people to larger keynote sessions of 500+. In 2024, I was named a “Rising Star” by InvestmentNews magazine.*

I am a member of the CFA (Certified Financial Analysts) Institute, the AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants), the OSCPA (the Oklahoma Society of CPAs), the XY Planning Network, and NAPFA (National Association of Personal Financial Advisors).

*2024 InvestmentNews Rising Stars
InvestmentNews extended invitations to financial advice and wealth management professionals across the country, asking them to name their most exceptional young talent. The resulting pool of nominees, people aged 40 and under who are committed to a career in wealth, were asked about their current role, key achievements, goals, and contributions they’ve made to shaping the industry. A panel of industry leaders evaluated and selected InvestmentNews’ inaugural batch of Rising Stars.

The nominees were all under the age of 40 as of November 30, 2024. Multiple nominees were selected as Rising Stars. This ranking is not based in any way on the individual’s abilities in regards to providing investment advice or management. The ranking is not indicative of an advisor’s future performance.
